Quality Private and Group Music Lessons for Forest Park Residents

We are dedicated to a simple, two-point mission:

  • To provide quality instrumental music instruction for children and adults
  • To make playing a music instrument a fun and enjoyable part of everyday life

Bringing the joy of music to anyone is a gift of incalculable value and the academic and life-skill benefits of musical instruction are well-documented. Those benefits suffer, however, if the process of instruction is not infused with a sense of fun and love of music as well as technical excellence. It is here that the Gasse School of Music excels.

The school provides individual and group instruction with an emphasis on self expression, creativity, teamwork, fun and proper technique. Lessons are given in instrumental music, elementary music for early childhood, chamber music and music reading. The school promotes public performances by its students, faculty and guest artists.

We use both the Suzuki and traditional teaching techniques, including sight reading, audition, and performance skills.

What Our Customers Are Saying

"Daniel Gasse taught both cello and chamber music at the Suzuki-Orff School for Young Musicians. He brought to our program a wonderful balance of fine musicianship and instrumental technique with understanding and compassion for his students. Daniel always had a smile and his enthusiasm and energy created an atmosphere of joyful learning. Daniel is both a talented musician and dedicated teacher." - Peggy Wise (Founder and Director Suzuki Orff School for the Young Musicians)

"My daughter has taken violin lessons from Sarah for about three years. In addition, she plays in a quartet that Daniel teaches. Sarah's and Daniel's expectations are appropriate for each student based on his/her ability and age. Their affection for the children and pleasure in teaching is apparent. Sarah impressed me with her excitement and enthusiasm about giving violin lessons to a seven-year-old autistic boy. Her acceptance of the student and her willingness to use new and unfamiliar strategies to communicate and teach this child are contributing to the success of this endeavor." - Felicia Cannon (Former parent of our student)

"No literary contrivance is needed to express how much Dr. Daniel helped my musicianship. In fact I think it's fitting that we're playing in an orchestra together--when we set out together, I said that my foremost goal was to play orchestral repetoire at a high level, and that's just what we're now doing in the Symphony of Oak Park. I think that's a testament to how Dr. Daniel teachs with the individual and his goals in mind, as well as having a staunch belief in teaching the fundamentals of cello playing and musicianship. I really thank Dr. Daniel for our years of study." - Evin White (Dr. Daniel's former student)
